when saying desktop, i mean desktop computer...as opposed to a laptop.

i have my own laptop so i can only get an external hard drive or an external DVD writer. Im heading for the DVD writer but im worried as im not too sure if the DVD writer currently in the market are stable in writing DVDs.

i'm waiting to get a dvd burner until they're as reliable as cd burners are now (and more universally player friendly). it just seems like now you're paying a lot for something really slow and that might not work on all players/computers.
