I've had posts deleted twice - once the aforementioned series of posts that were in the 'Ready to Drop' thread for several years, were seemingly well received, and heavily thanked, and that one day I found had just disappeared. No notification. No trace that the posts ever existed. When I inquired with a mod, he didn't know why, nor did he care enough to find out why. It was an OCC member who told me that the pics subject had requested removal.

Another was a single pic post that I didn't care so much about, but again, it just disappeared. I would have preferred a "Pro Pic Removed" notice in the post in that case rather than just have the post disappear. At least then I'd know what the issue was.

To be honest, celeb_peeper, you're not the most active of the mods. There are two very active ones. Perhaps we can hear from them on my request/suggestion...?
jim914109, you may or may not be including me in your "two very active ones", because I am on the site
almost every day and I do remove lots of reported posts, in addition to many watermarked photos. When I remove
one or more photos from a post, you can determine that I did it and why. You'll see why I removed the photo either at
the beginning of the post or at the end. Like this: https://forum.oneclickchicks.com/show...&postcount=878

When I remove a thread, I usually contact the member via P/M and advise them why I removed their thread. But since I
haven't removed any of your photos or threads... You wouldn't know that. So, I find it inappropriate that you say
that this is not the norm.

Also, there are many variables that cause threads to "disappear". If a person requests that their membership be
terminated... all posts they made and all threads that they started are removed. When the FIRST post in a thread
is removed, the whole thread disappears along with anyone else's post that was there. Then on occasion, Admin
will remove some old threads to make room for new material.

Lastly, when a moderator removes a photo or a thread, I can look and tell you who and why. If Admin removes
something... sometimes I can tell why, but most of the time when Admin removes it, It's gone!

I hope this has helped.

Regards,
Mudbug

I guess that's why I don't see you - I almost never visit those areas...I visit just the photo and Fiction and Non-Fiction boards for the most part.

Yes, you are actually a mod I see as currently one of the most active, and your specialty seems to be spotting watermarks and deleting those pics. I see that you usually make some kind of note about what particular pic or pics were deleted when you do. I applaud you for that, for one simple reason - there are so many watermarked pics posted on the boards, I sure don't envy the person who has to try to police it. I don't even bother reporting watermarked pics, because there are so many of them I'd spend most of my OCC time making reports. Personally, I check pics carefully for watermarks before I upload them. I wish others would too.

I'm not so concerned about these issues, as they are more technical. If an entire thread disappears, I would not be likely to think that I was the one who was targeted. I have not started many threads, and all the threads I've started have been 'person specific', in order to avoid the dreaded "Use the search function. Thread Closed!" citation.

Personally, for me, it helps me to know WHY my picture or post has been removed. That is why I inquired about the deletion of a number of posts, all of the same subject, that were in the 'Ready to Drop' thread for years. I was about to repost them, when I learned from another OCC member, and not a mod (even though I had inquired), that the pics' original owner had requested deletion. That's why I thought that notification to the poster was an appropriate thing. I can assure you that I was not notified. I applaud your efforts to notify posters when posts are removed, so that makes it the norm for you. However, if not everyone does notify posters upon removal of posts, then it's not the norm for OCC. Please understand, I'm not trying to argue with you - I appreciate your 'moderator style'. You have a good 'bedside manner'.
