Default What happens when a post is deleted?

I'm pretty careful about what I post, so it hasn't happened to me. I'm curious about what happens. Does the poster get notified or does it just go away? Some get edited, and some go away completely. Just wondering.

P.S. I think the mods do a great job of keeping this site on track! Thanks!

Not sure exactly what you're asking. We typically don't notify people when we delete their posts, unless they ask why their post was deleted. Posts get edited when only a few pics break the rules. Posts get deleted when most or all of the pics break the rules.

With mine, I'd actually have preferred it to be deleted and told.
I read the rules first before posting. I then wrote a thread, and I did a "preview" of that thread to make sure it was all by the book, and all attachments that would have made it fit the rules, were nicely in place. So I submitted the thread. However, quite fairly, it went to a moderator to be checked, but I had no idea that in the process the attachments were removed, so I have no idea at all that those attachments that appeared in the preview, aren't actually there, so now the post is sitting in the graveyard, where I can't edit it and fix the problem by linking rather than attaching the images. And I don't want to recreate the thread from scratch, as that would seem a little rude while it's still sitting there in the graveyard. So I'm actually kind of stuck.

I looked at your post in the graveyard and no photos were attached. Try doing a "Test Post" Here: https://forum.oneclickchicks.com/foru...sprune=-1&f=13

This is a test area, so that you can see if your attachments show up.

Moderators usually check the "moderation posts/threads" regularly, so, it shouldn't
take long for a moderated post to show up on a thread.

This is not restarting the debate about what constitutes "pro pics", so please don't react to this post as that. Sparky 45 asks a legitimate question and I would like to respectfully suggest a particular approach to post deletion.

I've had the experience of posting a number of posts, all of one subject, in a thread on the OCC site. Those posts were on OCC for several years, and had been seemingly well-received and had garnered a number of "thanks." One day, when I went to look for them, I realized that they were gone - gone without a trace. When I inquired, I was originally told that the reason was unknown. Turns out the subject/owner of the pictures had requested removal - at least that's what I was told.

I feel that in a case like this, it's a fair request to make that the poster be notified of both the deletion and the reason. One simple explanation for this is that since no one at OCC originally could tell me why, I was thinking I would just repost them, which the mods would not have been happy about; I certainly would have continued to post new pics of that subject if I hadn't known the reason for deletion. An alternative approach might be to leave the posts there and just delete the pics, with a message indicating that the owner had requested they be taken down. At least then the poster would have a chance of knowing what happened. Does this request seem reasonable?

PS - The deletion of those posts has gotten me a number of PM requests from other OCC members for me to email the removed pics privately to them. I have totally stopped private emailing any pics to OCC members - it's against the rules anyway.

just as a note,
if i ever delete a post due to the material posted, i usually try and imform the poster, and i know that most mods will do the same. it all depends on how much time we have., as mods enjoy browsing just as much as the members, but we are not online 24/7. if its just a small edit, then we usually just edit the post and leave it at that, but if its a larger removal, we do try our best, just so it does not happen again.

regards
CP.

That doesn't seem to be happening as a rule.

I've had posts deleted twice - once the aforementioned series of posts that were in the 'Ready to Drop' thread for several years, were seemingly well received, and heavily thanked, and that one day I found had just disappeared. No notification. No trace that the posts ever existed. When I inquired with a mod, he didn't know why, nor did he care enough to find out why. It was an OCC member who told me that the pics subject had requested removal.

Another was a single pic post that I didn't care so much about, but again, it just disappeared. I would have preferred a "Pro Pic Removed" notice in the post in that case rather than just have the post disappear. At least then I'd know what the issue was.

To be honest, celeb_peeper, you're not the most active of the mods. There are two very active ones. Perhaps we can hear from them on my request/suggestion...?

I am fairly active, but i mainly stay on the free links and the video threads. i rarely visit the photo threads, unless a report has been sent about a post.
