Default Where did my 'Thanks' go!!!

Yesterday, I was pleased to see myself reach 34,000 (it is what makes me want to keep posting!) and this morning, that total has dropped by about 25, to below 34.000. That must mean somebody has gone back through loads of posts to remove them all.....I wonder why??

Looking through your posts the last time a post of yours was deleted was on 09-30-2010, which didn't have any "thanks" with the post, it was just one where you pointed out reposted content, so both the repost and your post were deleted together.

Looks like you're over 34,000 now, so it might of just been a hiccup.

Slick

Yeah, I noticed the same - a bunch of my "thanks" melted away into cyberspace. I don't know what happened.

hmm yeah same here.. i remember i had 2444 as the number of posts thanked and now its 2441

So that means that 3 posts evaporated into thin air, with whatever 'thanks' were attached to them

I blame global warming

I think Pedro's first post refers, however, to the fact that it's been possible for a while now for an individual to remove his/her own thanks to a given post, so rather than being just "a hiccup," that could be an explanation. I can see that option having been put in place so that a person might correct a mistake, like clicking "Thanks" on the last post in a thread instead of clicking the "Forum Jump" box a bit lower (I did that myself once or twice before the policy was instituted, but couldn't remember - or be bothered to search for - where I'd done it to go back and change), but if that's the justification, couldn't a time limit on the change, like the one on editing posts, be established? On the subject of "hiccups," though, has anyone figured out how cyrylek managed this stat: Thanked 4,294,967,295 Times in 35 Posts ??

Maybe that's where all the disappearing thanks went!

I think you'll find with petro and others that it's not anyone taking back their thanks(well maybe the odd member, but def not all)... it's most prob like my case, posts just disappearing/falling off

and this has happened at least twice before in the past... at the time i remember checking to see my most recent posts(just as i have done now) and they were all there, so i'd gathered it must have been older posts.
I didn't say anything at the time, because i didn't think it was a big deal.

I have noted this on occasion, but no big deal. Usually, i just go mmmm........didn't I just pass 37,000 the other day and now I'm back under....? Or something like that.
