Clarification requested

Following a lead from fetichista014, I went to revver. When I posted a video that I found, I wanted to give credit to the person who gave me the lead and the site. Posters often refer to original sites like YouTube and Webshots. However, the name was starred out. I also seem to remember that some Rapidshare alternative sights are blocked.

Why? Is there something I don't know that I should? Do you have a list of hostile sites to be avoided?
I did not get pop up ads or spam at revver, so I am a bit confused.

Links like revver, imagecash and similar are blocked as they pay the uploader. its nothing against genuine people who were using it as an alternative to rapidshare. Unfortunately some were posting completely off topic links to create their own income and spamming the forums.

I do remember seeing ads that indicated a "pay for visits" scheme at revver.
I really did not think about the potential abuse.
