Why was my post deleted?

I just responded to a poster here and my post was deleted! Please explain to me why? This is a "General Discussion" forum, so do you censor even harmless general discussion??

It was an old off-topic thread. This forum is not meant to be a place for discussing social issues. This forum is for "Site feedback and Support". Rather than letting an off topic discussion continue, we simply removed the thread.
