Young people's approach to nudity

I sometimes think about the changing times and how it's reflected in some young people's approach to nudity.

Two illustrations of this:

I was recently speaking with a young female colleague. She mentioned having been asked out by another person who works with us.
We got to talking and she freely spoke about possibly dating and sleeping with the guy. I asked her if it wouldn't be uncomfortable for her to continue working with him after, if it doesn't work out between them.
Her response: I really don't care about him seeing me naked, I'm much more concerned with opening up and having him see my vulnerabilities and then having to continue working with him.
I was struck by that comment and her approach to the nudity aspect.

Another case involves a young woman who is, for lack of a better term, a "friend of the family".
She was over recently enjoying a day in the sun and the pool with our family and some other friends.
At one point she wanted to go pick up some more drinks so she said she'd change in to street clothes. She proceeded to stand in full view of the others and strip off her swimsuit bottoms and replace them with underpants and shorts. She then left to go get the drinks.
Later, after her return, I heard one of the other young women present ask her about that. The girl who had taken off her bathing suit said something to the effect of "guys go shirtless because they don't have any organ that sticks out of the body but they won't go bottomless for the exact same reason. Women keep their tops on because their breasts stick out from the body...do the math...". Not an accurate quote but close enough.

We aren't in the "youth" category now days, but remembering back when we first were together.

There were several times when we were with other couples and for some reason my wife would remove her clothes in front of them.

For instance once we were camping and one of the tents was a large wall tent, maybe 12' by 12' and high enough to walk around in.
It had rained and she had gotten thoroughly soaked.
There were 6 of us in the tent and she just took off all of her clothes and dried herself and then put on just a pair of sweat pants and sweat shirt. She had not been naked in front of the other 2 guys before, but didn't try to cover herself at all.

Another time she was home by our pool, naked cleaning leaves off the surface when one of our friends (who had previously seen her naked) showed up with 2 of his buddies (who had never seen her naked). She greeted them and continued cleaning the pool, didn't cover herself while they were there.

She and I were on our back patio having a glass of wine. She was wearing a completely sheer lingerie set.
Our next door neighbors heard us and came over to visit.
My wife never tried to cover herself or put on any covering.

The lingerie was so transparent that it was as if she was naked.
She got them glasses of wine and over the next 2 hours walked around fully exposed to them.
The husband had never seen her naked (or even close) before.
After that night he knew every inch of what she looked like naked.

Over the years there must have been dozens of situations where my wife has been seen naked or nearly so and has never reacted to others seeing her.

before she went away to college our daughter asked me if i would drive her and a couple of her girlfriends to black's beach, a clothing optional beach about an hour and a half away (when the traffic is good). they knew the right mom to ask.

so on the day i took 3 teenage young women for a nude day at the beach. they wore bikinis which they took off after we arrived and setup our blankets and chairs, and i wore just a beach coverup which i took off. i didn't bother with a bikini underneath. it was a weekday and not terribly bustling. i made sure to bring an ample amount of sunscreen.

the girls had fun. i don't think any of them had ever gotten naked in such a public scenario. and me, naked mom, had a fun time, too. the water was a little cold but that's great for the nipples. the girls got up the nerve to go check out a group of guys nearby but it turned out they were gay and not interested in the 3 pretty and flirtatious nude young ladies. lol

it felt nice to drive wearing only a loose coverup with nothing underneath. maybe some folks on the freeway caught a little sideboob, maybe a truck driver might've caught a little bit of undercarriage. lol

How do you think they would have felt had they encountered anyone they know?
Did they discuss that possibility?
Were they at all concerned?
What about you as the mother and responsible adult: would it have bothered you to have your daughter and her friends seen in the nude by an acquaintance?

I have been going to nude beaches for ages and ages. I really couldn't care less who might see me.
My wife on the other hand is much more concerned which is why she'll only join me if it's far from home.
I find it hard to envision her encouraging our daughter to do the same - but who knows? Maybe I should ask my wife about that.

we were quite a distance from home so it was unlikely that any of us would encounter someone we knew. i was impressed by how the girls took to being nude on the beach so readily and weren't really nervous except for an "ok, here we go!" as they started to drop their bikinis.

I think a lot of younger people's approach to nudity is largely driven by what they see on social media. When you walk around town in the city in the summer, you'll see a lot of braless tits bouncing around under a light shirt. I saw a young lady at a street fest wearing an "underboob shirt" such as the one illustrated below; which "back in the day" would have been considered "sl*tty."
And we all know about the cameltoe leggings...as well as butt cheeks on the beach.

What does this mean? Actual nudity is not "cool" anymore. For them it has to be either "implied" or "approximate"; for "effect."

As a nudist, this doesn't bode well for our future.

Actually, that does make sense. There is not much to see, from the front, between a woman's legs, usually just a slit. Women's boobs, OTOH, are hard not to notice.

When I discussed visiting a naturist spa, with my second spouse, she was unsure about letting strangers see her tits. She didn't care so much about her quim because in her words: "I was born with it". But she believed her boobs arrived at puberty and defined her as a woman.

Personally, I have always felt there is too much fuss about mammary glands. They are not, after all, sex organs. But some women, it seems, do not see it that way.
