I'm no expert where bit torrent is concerned but my guess is it is a firewall issue. Windows XP I think has a built in firewall which could be causing your problem. Try removing then reloading azureus and watch for the popups asking permission for azureus to connect to the net.

If the problem still remains try using a different torrent client.

Hope this helps.

I use bittorrent alot and also azerus, what you have to do is forward that port in the router to your computers ip address. if your doing this wirelessly this can get tricky unless you are the only wireless person on the network. like for me i have port 6881 forwarded to ip 192.168.1.xxx where xxx is the final digits of the internal ip.

Hope this helps

with Azureus it will give you a tracker status message, this usually gives a big hint to the problem, are you getting a message?
Also, do you have a fire wall installed? if so you will need to allow azureus (and java) total freedom thru it. The azureus home page gives "how to" information on alot of stuff. also make sure you downloaded azureus from the hope page and not anywhere else because they stick in spy ware and mal ware and all other kinds of crap. (the azureus home is http://azureus.sourceforge.net/ )

Failing that, try using the excellent BitComet client - never had any probs with this and switched to it when Azureus started playing up.
