A while back, I wrote to ask if Flickr.com pics could be posted here. Most pics say "all rights reserved" or "some rights reserved". I don't recall seeing pics with no notice.
I have seen some posts recently to the forum from Flickr.com, and I would like to post some too, but I was under the impression that they were copyrighted. Am I overlooking pics that have no notice? I was told it was best not to post pics that said "some rights reserved". What say the mods? Thanks, Klondike |

If you find photos somewhere and they say "all rights reserved" or "some rights reserved", it's best not to repost them here.
Thanks. |

Ok - thats what I was told before and I will abide by that. But it sounds like there is a grey area there and maybe that is confusing other posters who may not be interpreting it that way. Two recent threads come to mind.
Here is an example of why I would like to post Flickr pics ![]() http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=48083445&size=o enjoy, Klondike |

The best solution would be to post links (just like that) in the Free Sites forum.
Thanks. |

I would like to pose this scenario / question. I know that not all the different moderators for the different sections are going to respond here, but I hope I can get a good idea from all of you reading this.
My wife and I have a Flickr Pro account and we have 1000 of our photos (mostly of her) on there, and almost all of them have our copyright in the bottom right corner that we add with Picasa before we upload them. We just found this site and would like to share some photos here that are on our Flickr account. If I add links to our photos from our Flickr account on here, and our account name matches the watermark on the photos, and we aren't violating copyright because (A) they are our photos, and (B) we are linking from Flickr, so they aren't copied anyway... ... will they still get flagged and removed? I'm definitely not a pro, and my wife is not a model, but some shots are really nice, and some are so-so, but they all have our copyright / watermark on them. These are the ONLY photos we have to post, like the one we attached. If it is ok to do this, should we use the BBcode that Flickr provides, or what is the preferred way to add our Flickr photos to a post? Do we need to always attach rather than link? |

We do not allow hotlinking with BB code, so you will need to upload the photos here as attachments.
Because they are marked with your own copyright and not a URL they should be okay. Although I can't guarantee other members won't report your posts to the moderators because people know we are strict about our watermark policy. To be safe, it may be wise to mention in your posts that the copyright symbol is definitely your own. |

Very good. We will start with our older non-copyrighted photos and build some rapport here. Thank you for your wonderful site, and we hope to add many photos of our own!
