It's not unheard of for colleges to do this type of "research". Years ago one very popular Ivy League school was forced to destroy ( supposedly ) all of their photos of old students who had posed for some "body type" research. Some very famous and well known people where included in these pictures. The one that seems to come to mind is Hillary Clinton. Although I could be wrong on that one. Both male and female subjects were featured.

The Hegre theory sounds valid, but I also notice the file names- William and Mary is a small college in Virginia I believe. New to me anyway, so thanks.
