Default Need help with Windows Explorer

Help! Every time I try to open one of my vid files I get a message that Windows Explorer must close. Does anyone have a) an alternative way to open these files, or b) a suggestion on how to fix Windows Explorer?

Thanks for any help.

I don't have a suggestion for fixing your internet explorer problem. Perhaps you can still open your saved videos by right-clicking on them and select "Open With" -> and choose a media player from the list.

Thanks,

Arrow try this

i had similar problem a while ago, on my old PC. it turned out to be spyware from a video i downloaded. You tend to get some spyware with certan .WMV files. Run addaware and spybot and see if they find anything. You could also clear out all your history and temp files. and even try to remember any videos you recently downloaded, and delete those.
Then if you are using media9 try updating to media10.

May not be the problem, buts its all i can think of for now,
regards
CP.

Thanks to those of you who answered by earlier plea. I've run the spyware and found nothing. It happened again today when I tried to open a vid called WindowPeep002 which is in my "occwindow" folder. I get a message that Windows Explorer must close (note that it is Windows Explorer not Internet Explorer). Then a message pops up from Microsoft telling me that there is a problem with LSX_MPEG Player and I should contact Ligos. I went to their site and found nothing helpful. I searched my computer and I do not have LSX_MPEG Player installed.

I went back to OCC and downloaded WindowPeep002 into a different folder. I encounter no problem when I open it from that folder.

I'm stumped. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Gawker

sounds like a corrupted download, i.e. something happened while yu first downloaded the file and alterted the file slightly, damaging it. this didnt happen the second time, and therfore the file works fine.

thats my guess.

sammy p -- thanks for the tip. I deleted the file from folder, downloaded it again and it works fine. Do you have any idea what the LSX_MPEG Player software is? Is it used to make these vids that are then posted?
