Default Save a mpg from a dvd

I know someone asked this before..I have a 5 second clip i want to save from a DVD as an MPG or AVI. I had a little program that would let you do that pretty quick, but I lost it when my hard drive went bad. Does this ring a bell? Help!

Arrow virtualdub

Well theres many programs you can use, I have 2 that i use mostly. DVD shrink or Virtualdub.
