Living in a terraced house

Hey guys,

We currently live in a back-to-back terraced house. For those of you who want a visual reference, think Coronation Street. This gives plenty of opportunity to both spy on neighbours in their own houses at the front and rear of our house, and, because the walls are particularly thin, it also means we are able to hear our neighbours all day and night.

I've got loads of stories about this, I've put a couple of examples below. Anyone have any similar experiences?


1) We have a young couple living in a house out the back, and can see their bathroom and bedroom windows. The streets are also on a hill, meaning ours is about 4 feet higher than theirs, so we can also see into their dining room and kitchen from our back bedroom/study.

The higher up the hill-side the more expensive the property is the rule here in So CA. The reason must be because the higher you are, the more homes you can see into. We presently live on the top of the hill. We can see directly into 3 homes, into their master bath/ bedroom. They are close enough you can see their expressions. There are 4+ that are a bit farther away but with a good pair of binoculars, you can count the short hairs.
