Question - Threads marked as having unread posts

I've been away from OCC since late April (busy with other things and did some traveling). I'm curious - I figured when I came back to OCC today that there would be pages and pages of threads marked as having unread posts. Instead, it seems that only posts made after sometime in the afternoon of June 22nd are marked as having unread posts, and when I click on the "View First Unread" button, it takes me to the oldest post after 6/22, and not to a post from late April. Is there a limit on how far the "unread posts" history can go back?
