The easiest way to make caps, at least for me, is to use BSPlayer.
The free version is on their download page toward the bottom.
You simply hit the P key when you want to capture an image.
BSPlayer plays several video formats, its pretty cool.

help in german:

hallo stephan,
bs player habe ich nicht aber irfanview ist ein einfach zu handhabendes tool zu diesem zweck:
spiele das video damit ab, gehe auf das sichtbare bild, maustaste rechts "kopieren".
die kopie kannst du dann in ms paint einf�gen und speichern (jpg waehlen).
im beispiel habe ich 2 kopien in paint einfach nebeneinander gesetzt.
hoffentlich klappts ..
