Default strange number of downloads

Any ideas why most images I have posted have 10 - 100 downloads but a couple of images posted in the last week or so have around 3000 downloads?!

It's hard for me to be sure without seeing the post rather than the attachment, but based on the size of the ones I opened, I'd guess it's because they were all "Attached Images" rather than "Attached Thumbnails." If that's true, the number of "Downloads" (more accurately described as "Views") would actually be the number of times that the page as a whole was viewed, since the image itself couldn't be viewed any larger, and thus couldn't be tabulated separately...
