Have you ever been the only one left out?

Even though I am not very social, I have a fear of being left out of situations involving exciting things, like nudity. It has happened to me twice. While it upsets me that I was left out, it gets me going when my wife brings it up, too:

Most recently, my wife and I were camping with her sister, sisters husband, and another couple, and my wife's parents. My wife's dad needed something in town, and I decided to drive him into town so that I could get a break from everyone. Well, it turned out that everyone else went skinny dipping when we were gone! This is a huge deal considering that my wife and her sister are total prudes, and my wife hates her sisters husband but they all let each other see them naked! The fact that two other guys saw my prudish wife naked when I wasn't there really makes me feel bad. And the fact my sister in law got naked in front of a guy that wasn't her husband when I missed out on seeing her makes me feel like crap, too. Of course i don't care that guys saw my wife, but I wasn't there to be part of it.

I asked my wife how it started, and the other couple suggested it and my wife and her sister and the other husband were in a weird mood. I know it happened because my wife was still in a towel when we got back and everyone's hair was wet.

My sister in law said she would have gone even if i were there, too. Oh, well!


A few years ago, I was with my wife and another couple and we were sharing a hotel room and we were going to change into swim suits. While my wife was already changing in front of everyone, they all made me leave while the other couple changed, but my wife got to stay. So, I was the only one who had to leave the room while the three of them changed in front of each other. It made me feel like crap, but I didn't want to start drama, so I just waited in the hallway until they came and got me. It was also weird that they just didn't take turns in the bathroom, but we all were in a huge hurry. I ended up changing after they were all done, and I changed in the room and they stared at me, so it was completely unfair.

It would be one thing if we were teenagers at the time, but we were grown adults for both these events.

Anyone else ever been the only person left out of something fun like this?

Sorry to hear you got left out. With the first story, those things just happen sometimes BUT you should ask your wife to think of you first and be proactive in those situations. She could have asked everyone to wait until you got back or could have jumped back in with you (and told/fibbed to everyone you had never been skinny dipping and that they all had to come).

With situations like in the second instance, before they finish what they are saying, you have to get all your clothes off. Then they can act like adults or they can go change in the super-small hotel bathroom.

Better to create these situations rather than hope to fall into one, in my opinion.

I have been one time...but it was a big one. I've been thinking about "what could have been" ever since it happened (or didn't happen for me).

The summer after senior year of college, myself and a lot of my friends stayed in town until our apartment leases ran out (in August). As it was the summer and we no longer had classes, our group of friends went out to the bars pretty much every night of every week...essentially the cycle was to work during the day, just to make enough money to pay for rent, food, and booze. I am 99.99999% postive that my girlfriend would have gotten pissed at the whole idea and would have stormed off....and because I'm a sucker, I probably would have followed her.

By the way...that was only about halfway through the summer...and after that, nothing along those lines ever happened again with our group.

Maybe I am a bit off topic (or maybe not) but I have a similar feeling of being left out of situations when my wife is exposed and I am not present.
My wife is a prude, she never goes topless on the beach, she rarely uses miniskirt or revealing outfits and she is always very careful in not showing more than the necessary. I'm not sure, because at that point I don't think they knew that my girlfriend wouldn't go for it...I think it kind of just happened. The swinging couple had hinted to me that they wanted us to join them sometime...but only after the "cat was out of the bag". Before the group sex incident...the girl didn't know that I knew about their swinging (the boyfriend had told me about it). Once it was out in the open, she often made innuendo that my girlfriend and I should join them. Had a similar experience, but not with a wife or girlfriend. When I was in college some of my friends (co-ed group) decided to go camping together. I couldn't go because I had a family event. I had something similar happen. Some friends invited my wife and I to a week at their parents beachhouse, along with another couple they were friends with from their hometown.
