Don't visit KT in the morning, then the old folks are there. Go afternoon to evening. The clothing optional is meant for the locals who don't want to be seen nude by neighbors or colleagues.

MattNL, totally appreciate your insights. I think the very upscale piece is what will do the trick. A romantic couples spa day just for us. I can definitely sell her on that.

As for your "not into voyeur/exhibitionism scene" comment, I personally find it MORE exciting (if that's possible) that my wife's not "into it" either - and frankly a little shy. The whole embarrassed nude thing just brings it up 10 notches for me, knowing anyone that sees her will have seen something very rare, reserved for me and her doctor.

If you have experience at other spas, including hotel ones, I'd love to hear it.

We went quite late, and as Rudolf mentioned a lot of people that come for clothing optional go early, so that may skew the ratio. I'd say the ratio between nude/clothed is around 70/30. There were a few groups of girls/guys there, but they weren't big. Usually 2 - 3 people max. There was a group of middle eastern men, but I was happy to see that they were also fully naked (so not just clothed and there to gawk).

I know the feeling. When we entered pools I went first and it's good that I was covered by water. Because seeing my wife enter while all the people from in the pool watch definitely gave a good stir!

We didn't visit any other spa's there, but I'll be sure to mention any future experiences. Happy to hear yours when you've visited.

Our sample size is really small, so please take this into account. We arrived there on a very sunny day in the afternoon. Because of the weather there was a small queue at the door since a lot wanted to go suntanning. When we arrived we noticed a guy walking away from the queue (most likely denied). He was wearing just regular clothes (I think a T-shirt and jeans? Can't remember it that well) and was around our age (20s) and was white. A few moments later we saw another guy get send away. He was middle-eastern / turkish?, older (don't remember how old, but not in our age group at least) and looked unkempt (big beard and all). The guy right in front of us was probably a bit older (early 30s), white, but was wearing a dress shirt (like he just came from the office). He also seemed polite with the bouncers.

I don't know if it's a race or clothes thing. I think they just want to keep the clientele inside a bit more high class. Looking at the crowd inside it wouldn't surprise me if they were a bit racist in their door policy.

But I think if you look well dressed, and come across as polite / clean, that it wouldn't hurt your chances. Hence the advice to dress nice, and just pretend you're a proper FKK pro. Do make sure you have a reservation if it's a busy day. Without it even couples will get denied.

There was and maybe still is a spa in Montreal owned and managed by a European couple. They had a strict policy that males must go full monty but females had an option to go full monty or wear a swimsuit. That spa may have been replaced by a condo by now.

It is not racist. In Germany there are many problems with men from Islamic countries. It is a cultural problem.They treat women who are lightly clothed or nude as fair game for respectless behavior and sexual assaults. These men need to be kept out of Saunas or the place will go down the drain. One big Sauna (Blubb) even had to close because of the women weren't safe. Bouncer are often Arab or Turks to fend off those racism claims. If the men have a woman with them, they uaually are let in and behave.

Some more thoughts, if they have bouncers,

Be relaxed. Don't stare at them. Like cops, bouncers notice everybody who is tense and looking around. Stay in your happy bubble.

Wear good shoes. People who dress up to look more hip or whatever usually don't considere their shoes.

If nothing helps and you are in a queue, start chatting with a woman you'd never hook up with. Older, not your style or whatever. Let her talk, and walk in with her 😁 But only beforehand, once you're denied, only Shakira will get you in.

Would showing a USA or UK passport help, say for a middle-eastern looking guy to show he’s not actually from an Islamic country. What other tips are recommended if he’s going by himself?
