There are a couple of very good reasons not to link your full name with your nude pictures.

Yes, most people she knows, and possibly even millions she doesn't, will see her in all her naked glory.

But, for most, the memory of the pictures will fade quickly and if they meet her fully clothed a year from now in a business meeting the connection will not be made.

However, add your last name to the picture caption and Google and Bing and all the other search engines will forever link it to you. Years from now, people you've never met, or people you've just met, will put your name into a search engine and on top of all the other good things about you will be "that picture." It's not necessarily the kind of thing you want to share with the doctoral committee or your future spouse's family.

And then there is always the clear and present danger of stalker nutters who get your last name, track you down, try and make contact and follow your life way too closely. It can be scary.

Without a last name we can all still enjoy the fun of Lisa's naked victory with her, and she avoids the downsides that would distract from all her other victories in life. Anything that doesn't discourage people from participating in these events is a good thing. Knowing her last name wouldn't mean a thing to the vast majority of picture seers anyway. While having her in the game and having pictures of it means a whole lot.

You're probably right that Hans Christian Anderson is a fake name, and Lisa's reasons for withholding her last name are probably the obvious ones. However, in past years it was common for them to use and publish their full names. Last year's female winner, the American Anna, was first runner I recall a using only their first name, real or fake. 2007's female winner, Aoife (I'll leave her last name out of it), caused a bit of a stir in her home country--the extremely conservative Ireland--as she was a somewhat accomplished collegiate athlete in her own right. In 2009 the three Norwegian girls all gave their full real names when they gave a fully nude interview.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who makes it a common practice of googling girls' names when they make it into the "nude news." I can vouch for the fact that in the case of Roskilde, more often than not they were real names. I think a lot of that has to do with European--and more specifically Scandinavian--attitudes toward nudity. I don't think having appeared naked on the internet is seen as career-threatening in Norway as it is in the U.S.

Still, as you point out it looks like discretion has become the new normal in the last couple years.
