Toward the end of September my counter showed that I had left 50,000 "thank you's" to members. The first week of October I was nearing 51,000. Right now I'm showing 49,981. They seem to be "disappearing"....

I just noticed my reply wasn't related to what Pedro was originally saying. I answered it at 5am while I was getting ready for work so I apologize, being half awake and all.
![]() Did anyone notice this before the "Remove Thanks" function was added? In this case I don't think it's people going back into old posts and using the "Remove Thanks" function. To lose 25 or so posts in less than a day would mean one person would have to remove them from 25 posts or 25 different people would have to remove them. Won't really know a definitive answer until Alex has a chance to look into it. Slick

You can blame me for creating this mystery, but I'll also take credit for solving it.
![]() There is a glitch in the software where the "Thanks" are not removed when a post (or thread) initially get's removed. Threads and posts are sometimes removed if they violate the forum rules, we receive a complaint or somebody chooses to end their membership with us. Once or twice a year we clean up the older deleted posts and physically remove them from our servers. At this point, people's "Thanks" counters are updated so "Thanks" that were left in deleted posts are no longer counted. For the past couple of days we have been doing this. We're all done for now so people shouldn't see any more dramatic changes until the next time we repeat the process. Thanks, Alex |
