Default Changing from Rapidshare

Hi all

With the demise of Rapidshare, thanks to its new charges and lack of reward scheme, what are those that are paying members thinking of moving to? There appears to be quite a few options but I don't see a clear winner at the moment that has the broad appeal of RS.

Any thoughts out there?

Regards,
Tom

And will there by any way to move all the files we've uploaded to there to a new host?

I might stick with RS for a while longer then - see how it goes.

Smile Remote upload

A lot of other filesharing hosts let you remote upload your collection, so you don`t have to do any manual upload. Every day a lot of customers are getting tired of rapidshare and the latest development makes more and more internetusers leave rapidshare. There are lot of filehosts that are as good as rapidshare.

Perhaps there is light at the end of the tunnel, it looks like Rapidshare has had a change of heart

As only a free user, I used to upload to Rapidshare, but after the kick-in-the-face they gave all of us free users last holiday season, that lasted 2 or 3 months I believe, I decided to drop RS as a host. And they do have a rich history of pissing everyone off, so I decided to use Meg_uplo_d as a host (not knowing it was banned here). I can send files up to 800mb to users in 1 download and they are quite generous to free users as far as downloading goes, in fact, I have downloaded files over 1gig in multi-part .rars without any waiting period as a free user, and in less than 1 hour.

I know that host is not allowed as of a few years ago now but it would be nice if it could be re-evaluated. I have just kind of been waiting for something to happen here as I know there are a lot of people are finished with Rapidshare.

I have read here that members are allowed to post videos and photo files on other hosts, but I don't see anyone doing it. In the Free Sites section, all I see are posts with youtube and other tube-type streaming links, not hosted files by members here. It seems like having a section called Rapidshare Files, that's the only host you want to see here. Is it really OK to post files in the Free Sites section on hosts, like Hotfile,Sharingmatrix,Depositfiles,Easy-share,Sendspace,Yourfilehost,Filefactory,Qshare,ec t,ect, ect.

Correction--I have seen videos posted in the Free Sites section on other hosts, but it is not really made clear to the members that it is OK to do so without some digging around and searching. Not trying to be a pain-in-the-ass here but when I saw the title of this thread, I knew it was time to say something about it.

We try to keep the Rapidshare forum exclusively for Rapidshare links. We suggest links to files on other hosts can be posted in the "Free Sites" forum, but keep in mind we do not allow links to file sharing hosts where people get paid when others download their files because eventually that just leads to more SPAM rather than quality material.

Thanks,

Understandable.

What about multiupload.com? There you upload the file to one location and the site uploads it to several other sites. Others have the option of downloading it from their choice of sites: rapidshare, megaupload, depositfiles, hotfile, and several others. I have used it before and it seems to work well. Plus people like me who are a free rapidshare user have other options once they reach their download limit. No money is made by uploading to multiupload so there is no violation of that rule.
