The problem with watermarks

OK, I know that you have to draw the line somewhere, but as this clip (http://www.ryoni.com/news/123/ARTICL...005-03-15.html) points out, merely having a watermark does not make it your property. First, there is a logo from the televesion station that ran it. Then, someone put a mark on it in the upper left, then the current site put one above the TV logo.

Neither of the two sites that put their mark on the vid has any right to it (only the station has rights).

I totally agree and it really pisses me off sometimes. I have no problem whatsoever with watermarked videos not being allowed, and understand where the moderators are coming from with regards to this issue. What does seem to get under my skin though, is when I find some clips that I actually used to have (before an unfortunate computer breakdown), that weren't watermarked because they were amateur, and now all of a sudden they have a big fat watermark on them. So of course, now I can't post them for other OCC members to enjoy. I was recently on danerd.com and noticed several videos that I know aren't the "property" of that site, but you wouldn't know it with their site address stamped all over it.

Dammit! Venting sure does feel good sometimes.
