Changing Subject Lines

I wonder if there is some mechanism we can employ to change or clarify subject lines. In the interest of organization, I would group thread titles or subject lines that need improvement into two categories:

1. Subject Lines that should change because additional information has been uncovered. In this case, I am specifically thinking about "request" threads. I might request more information on someone and then, through the magic of the OCC members, learn more detail about my request.

The subject line is "request." (Incidentally, there are over 500 threads that include the word "request" in the title.) As it turns out, the original poster has requested something fairly specific: Butterfaces (Women with hot bodies, but ugly faces; as in: Every part of her is hot, but her face!). As this thread has started to develop, I think it would be nice to: add more detail to the subject line and/or remove the word request.

Is this possible? What is the best mechanism to make the change?

2. Threads with crappy titles or subject lines with equally non-descript content. I think it would be unrealistic and it remove some of the charm of OCC to try to edit these.
