So what and where is this Kazantip? A Yahoo search showed results for a Kazantip techno festival on a beach in Crimea Crimea, that's where Koktebel is, the famous nude beach favored by the beachhunters folks.

I saw very few nude pics in this thread. I did see a few. I'm not sure if this is a topless or nude beach or both. Here's something else I just found. Maybe you folks have already seen it, maybe not.

I was also curious about the small minority of nudes. Is it legal, but rarely done? Or not legal, but a few rebels do it anyway? Anybody know?

To attempt to answer both the previous, Kazantip is indeed the name of the festival held at Koktebel, which in turn is where a nudist beach is also located; they are not the same stretch of sand, however. Klondike can perhaps shed light on exactly where the two spaces are in relation to each other: I suspect the nudist beach is further out of the city of Koktebel, not least because there's so much camping accompanying a lot of the photos we see from there. The reason for the different rate of nudity at Kazantip as opposed to the naturist beach at Koktebel is no doubt due to the fact that it's the main reason to go to the latter, whereas like many festivals such as Roskilde, Bonnaroo, or even the Fremont Solstice Parade & Pageant, the nudity is only a small part of what's going on, and is determined by how comfortable people feel about being partly or totally naked, at Kazantip.

One guy who could explain everything about Koktebel and Kazantip would be "Scotsguy" who posted some very nice photos in the past on the Cocco website and had a very nice own weblog. Unfortunately 'had', because of the nudist pics, blogspot closed his weblog.
I just got a nice neptune nudistclip shot at Koktebel and also a short candid-hd clip shot there.
I will upload them and share them in the rapidshare section.
I'm wondering also myself how all those woman and girls doesn't bother that (sometimes a lot) voyeurs are making pics/vids of them. In the case of Beachhunters, i think, they mostly don't know except for the pics/vids shot at festivities there.
In the coming years i may be will visit Koktebel once to check it out myself. But for the time being the South of France is a good alternative for me.

Kazantip and Koktebel are really not all that close together. They are both on the Crimean Penninsula, but thats about it. Kazantip is much further east, maybe as much as 200 miles. I don't have my map handy at the moment.
I suspect that the beach adjoining the festival is traditionally used only topless, not fully nude.

NOW IF they were in the same location - Kazantip would be one hell of a festival and would have a lot more full nudity. I mean its one hell of a festival anyway, but as you've said, mostly topless. The question on my mind is what is the official policy towards nudity at Kazantip. I don't know - not being fluent in Russian makes it hard to find these types of things out. A topless only policy on the beach itself is certainly not required in Russia, but perhaps IT IS required as part of the festival to satisfy sponsers, local governments, etc. It is one thing to be fully naked on a beach in Europe. it is another thing to be naked at a music festival, although Glastenbury, Roskilde, etc does get fully nude on occasion.

Copious amounts of FULL nudity at a youth festival similar to this one is almost unheard of. Yes, we can dream, but the day is not at hand yet..
