for $20 or so you can buy an "enclosure" that will turn your old hard drive into an external USB hard drive.

just remember, if you take your whole computer to be repaired by someone, they very well might browse through all your porn, steal your private porn, and report you to the feds for kiddie porn if they find naked pics of your own kids in the bath.

open your tower and remove your hard drive. Theres little spacers on the back called jumpers, which you can swap around, to change the drive into a slave drive. (if its an IDE drive) but if its a sata drive, then you dont need to change the jumpers. You can plug the hard drive into a friends pc and remove anything you dont want the shop to see.

heh, you did the right thing doing it yourself. Most of those tech guys tend to poke around when you leave yoru computer with them.

I just got a external harddrive from my brother for christmas
Its well worth it so far. Its very fast. Much more faster than i would expect a usb harddrive to be.
But i did put in the computer in the office and the computer had usb version 1.0. It was soo slow. Took 2 hours to copy 3 gigs. So if your going to get a external harddrive make sure your computer supports usb version 2.0. If you bought your computer in the last 3 years it should be fine.

If you have nero, why not but some blank DVD disc's and make data disc;s with all your porn. They will take about 4.7gb data

Some people with lots of $$$ buy a fancy external drive system, smart people do wha madahab said and get an enclosure and put a drive in it.
My 120gig exernal drive has been a awesome. i did buy a usb 2.0 card for my laptop to run it fast as zapras mentioned.
I almost have it halfway full.
