Are we at the point where the only new photos posted are old photos? I’m doing my best to dig up anything that hasn’t been seen here before.

I'm not an expert on the subject, but could it be that with spread of the internet and all that, these days calendars like this becoming a rarity?

You're actually spot on. They aren't totally dead, but they are definitely becoming rare.

It mostly comes down to a few things:

Back in the day, student contracts were very loose and photoshoot sets weren't strictly controlled, which is why a lot of 'unofficial' material used to leak out.

social media algorithms instantly ban accounts that try to promote them, and even major search engines now block or heavily filter these kinds of searches, making them impossible to find.

students today are paranoid (rightfully so) about future job hunts and facial recognition.

For us fans of the genre, we really need to hold onto the historic calendars we have and share those rare ones that are impossible to find now.
As for the few new ones still being made, they will probably be way more conservative/censored, with zero chance of finding RAW files or behind-the-scenes content like we used to."

this sounds like a lot of AI chatbot (gemini?) research/writing mixed into a reply with the standard misinformation that comes with that.

the golden age of the calendars was circa 2005ish to 2020. the pandemic was actually when the shift away from calendars occurred.

calendars were still widespread in 2019-20. most of what was posted in this thread in the 2010's was official. if anything the bigger leaks have been more recent and have nothing to do with photoshoot "contracts".

socials do not instantly ban any of this. vetsuncovered posted a bts reel today folks (so much for zero chance). what did happen is hashtags no longer work to find random posts about calendars. but I assure you google is not censoring charity calendars. they are pretty tame in the realm of nudity/erotica.

the truth is more complex and no chatbot has any real idea about the history of these calendars because they have quite limited training data. for reasons no one can be entirely sure, women's rugby teams, equestrian groups, and boating clubs no longer regularly do them. yet other organizations have stuck with them such as at some of the vet schools and the yfc groups.

the whole topic is nuanced and could be the topic of a scholarly research book. would be good to keep misinformation to a minimum. i'm not claiming that things aren't more conservative now. in some ways they are. but in other ways less calendar production can't be easily explained the way less campus naked run participation can be.

my take is enjoy the few great calendars that still get made. the production value is better than anything from 10-15 years ago. be glad the fad lasted at all, much less decades.

Does anyone purchased the last year calendar? If not I can take pictures of my calendar, I have to said the format was different compared to previous years (I hope they return to the previous one)

I think it was a matter of time till some schools/students find it boring/repetitive maybe? Either that or didnt get enough support for the charities. Also some of them started to distribute locally only. I will continue purchasing the calendars until the end of times (fortunately my girlfriend is ok with my "hobby")

Censorship on social media platforms has become strict. Just look how few search results are in insta, youtube, and fb. This is where I think mostly people get to contribute.

A lot of them, those who do naked calendars, also had been aware I guess. They private their profiles and such. Hopefully none of you dm those public profiles that you see on social media then ask something.

Back to topic, vetsuncovered post a bts for 2027 but without nudity at all. I'm thinking the guy who did the bts for multiple years had graduated also and/or maybe move away from doing it. Hopefully I am wrong and someone did a proper bts for 2027.

funny, last year I bought it at the last second and as it did it seemed like suddenly everyone got it and was posting. Then this year everyone learned the same lesson and didn't get it.

Let’s not forget those calendar participants who are not vets or students, but middle aged women posing for charity causes. As a fan I mourn the infrequency these are released now. These are women who are probably not going to be as concerned about future employers as our students. I hope this is just a temporary slump because they are missed.
