If you have followed this thread from the beginning you'd realize that most search engines don't give great results forever. They tend to do well for a period of time and then sort of drop off and aren't good at all for a while. Sometimes they come back and are very good at searching. One thing to keep in mind is that some of the image storage sites are to blame for lack of results. You remember xhamster used to be a treasure trove for amateur photos and sadly they began locking the doors and we could no longer just walk in. OCC used to show up in searches a lot back in the day and now you're lucky to find anything from here using a search engine.

So all the above leads me to ask if anyone is having good luck with any search engine in particular.

I haven't had a lot of luck with any of the search engines. Google is OK but the similar images don't bring up a perfect match.

It seems that porn sites with a pay wall will always want to protect their revenue stream so will prevent engines form penetrating.

How far are we from facial recognition software for private individuals that is affordable? Are we already there? The technology is already sophisticated but I would have thought by now we would have more tools than we have. I don't understand why sites like OCC don't offer the ability for paying members to find specific faces within the site using facial recognition. There are probably lots of pics of my wife on this site and it would be a turn on to see them but it is like searching for a needle in a haystack to scroll through all of the theads where she might be.

Great idea, but many sites like this may not be able to implement the newer technology without expensive upgrades to their servers and backbone software. The other issue is that a lot of sites protect images because they don't want a lot of people coming to the site to download content without becoming a member and never contributing anything to the site. Also there may be many other issues that sites have to deal with if their content is searchable. This is why xhamster closed access to everyone except the content owner.

I note that some pictures from this site have started to appear in Pimeyes searches. It appears they've found a way around the blocks that stopped them searching this site before.

Yandex used to be my go to offering me many results to follow but something is happening with that site and its not working at all so I've been having some pretty good results with Google. In closing I definitely agree with your comments about xhamster, I found so much material I was looking for from that site prior to it changing

Yandex was great but now it seems to find everything but the pic you're looking for. It's almost like it scans the face in the pic and filters out anything for that subject.

The only way to get into that treasure trove of pics on hammy is if you knew the site owner and he let you moderate at the site or just gave you access. Stuff keeps getting added daily, but we have zero access these days. I think the problem started with these companies getting sued and it wasn't worth the hassle so they put up the gates and now it becomes the responsibility of the individual posters who don't have any money so you can't get blood out of a stone.
