She walks around, goes swimming, talks to other people and has done all of these things infront of people she knows - something I just don’t think she would do elsewhere.

Her confidence has definitely rubbed off on others as friends we were with ended up doing the same when it was clearly not on their radar before then.

So Lucky I'll be spending a week on Formentera this summer!

It is remarkable how much things have changed.

Going back to my youth it was still rare. In the late seventies, I went to the south of France with my then girlfriend. On our first visit, I remember her excitedly telling me that I'd missed seeing a woman getting her tits out on the beach while I was off getting something from the car.

Just a few years later, it seemed every woman was doing it. In the nineties, my ex and her teenage daughter thought nothing of sunbathing topless together by a busy hotel pool in Greece.

The women I've known have liked go take off as much as they felt they could get away with while sun bathing. However, few of them were brave enough to be the only woman who is exposed. They take their cue from what other women are doing.

These days, it's far less common yet still acceptable. My wife tends to wear a full one piece costume unless we are on an official nude beach. Last year we were on a quiet beach in the Maldives. As soon as my wife saw a young woman walking by topless, she got her own boobs out. Yet later when another couple sat down nearby, she covered up again.

She just doesn't want to be the odd one out. A far cry from my hippy-like first girlfriend back in day, who'd happily get naked on all but the most crowded of family beaches. She didn't care.

We went on a cruise and one of the stops was at Saint Martin for a day. We took a cab over to Orient Beach for the day and rented chairs at Orange Fever.
My wife likes tanning topless and was looking forward to it. Wow, It was quite different from the last time we were there .........the beach was really not that crowded.
My wife was the only women I saw topless on the beach except for some women at the nude section of the beach.
We walked the beach several times during the day, and she drew plenty of attention, but doesn't really care if people stare.
Toward the end of the day there was one women sitting near us that was constantly adjusting her bikini top for tanning. When she saw my wife being topless, she finally took hers off too.

So since I originally posted this thread Ive realised, as poster above hinted at, topless sunbathing as the norm it was 20 plus years ago is dead. Nude beaches are the way forward. You don't really see bikini tops on any woman there and most bikini bottoms are not worn too. Tines have changed and I don't think we are ever going back to that time when most women had their tits out on most med beaches. Life's too short to wait so I'm off to the nude beach again this summer

We have the benefit of living near the beach and can happily say that boobs out is still a thing. Even more so is the now common fashion of g-string bikinis.
We are in Australia though and travel the coast quite often.

Just want to ask whether this "boobs out is still a thing" is more about the beach near you or if it's still a thing even on a more mainstream Australian beaches. I feel like I've been to quite a few different beaches in Australia and nobody has gone topless in the last few years I went, including the few times I went in the last month or so.

Definitely a thing on sydney city beaches still. Coogee and Bondi. Tamarama and Maroubra.
Up the coast on the remote beaches and further up in Byron and Gold Coast.
Have noticed more likely during the week instead of weekends.

We are looking to make the booking for June holiday/vacation now. I think we might try Ibiza or Formentera. Are there any beaches or hotels you would recommend? Where is it most common?
