It's not worth the money - few people, very few nice girls, elderly people, not too much interesting people.

Was in Koln last weekend for a work trip and had a blast in one of the saunas in the hipster area of the city. Expensive but worth it.

I'm a young guy planning a solo trip to Berlin in early 2026 since I've never been to any sauna before and these nude ones are something I've always wanted to explore. Coming from the UK I find the idea mind-blowing and wish it was part of our culture.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if the changing rooms and showers at the kristalltherme ludwigsfelde are mixed or same sex? I'd like to get the whole nudist experience of changing and showering with women. On that note I know you should cover with a towel if you get an erection but is this also true in the shower? I almost always get an erection when I'm showering alone just because I'm washing down there and it's nothing sexual. So what am I supposed to do in that situation? Stop showering and cover up? Turn away from everyone and continue? Ignore it?

I'm also not sure on the etiquette of talking to strangers, where/when is the best time to try to start a conversation? Is it better to approach locals or other tourists? I am quite shy so I want to pick the place/time people would be most receptive to chatting.

At K the changing rooms are mixed, but there are also small cubes that some use for changing. There are no assigned lockers, so you can choose a locker in any area you like. The pre-sauna showers are single gender rooms. The showers by the saunas are open (e.g. shower after aufguss). It seems mostly people stay to themselves and I think conversations are difficult. Maybe the cafe is the best option. I guess depends on your personality.

The changing rooms are awesome - as soon as you walk in, you'll still be in your clothes, but surrounded by naked and half naked women. It's also one of the few situations where you can play the guessing game about whether a cute girl has pubic hair and then find out the answer a few moments later.

You should use the showers near the sauna, as opposed to the changing room, if you want to take a co-ed naked shower. You will be super close to naked girls, so if you are worried about getting an erection, I recommend jerking off right before your trip to the sauna.

Weekday evenings or weekends will have the best crowd.
