Many of you have taken some fantastic imagery of the ride over the years. I believe this to be a very positive thing. It spreads awareness and encourages new people to ride. You know who you are and I think it's fantastic. Let's not allow the actions of the few ruin these amazing public events.

Many of my female friends get naked with me away from the public gaze. They opt to not attend public events because they don't want the inevitable scrutiny. I find this to be a shame but I totally understand. They have day jobs, family life - they're real people! And the actions of the few are contributing to the reasons why you'll never get to see them naked in a public context.

I hope that you'll appreciate why I'm speaking out. I want to see more female participants. They're as willing as the guys - they just don't want the relentless weirdness!!!

A reasonable compromise would be to obscure the face and any tattoos that could identify the participant.

An exception could be made for "public figures" known for their nudity (e.g. Naked News anchors).

I am changing my opinion on this evidence that this year's London ride was one of the better ones.

Well organised, lots of ladies with a fair few babes. I think many dipped in & out and the peleton got a bit spread out which may have given the impression there weren't as many as previous years, coupled with far fewer photos & videos surfacing.

Instead of trying to erase their personalities, a less dehumanising solution would be for the girls to wear sunglasses and hats.
Many people don't want to see faceless or headless bodies. They want to see the participants enjoying themselves.
Sunglasses and hats work very well.

This is some screen shots taken from my mobile i took. Not great quality, but better than nothing i guess. She never rode, but she quickly took her long black dress off and posed for about a minute, with a guy she is with, taking pics of her. Sensed she would do something like this and that's why i didn't go to the gates to where all the riders were leaving at the time.

As a member of this forum I want to second this opinion. IMO the dressed/undressed thread with instagram photos and personal info should be deleted, and new rules should be put in place to disallow this. Not on a basis of "killing the golden goose" as others put it but because it's so far over the line ... the action of collecting photos of female riders is already creepy by itself, I'm under no delusion that the morality isn't already dubious. However there is a stark difference between private viewing of photos / sharing of unidentified photos taken in a public place (again already toeing the line), and collecting personal information that could easily be used for online harassment (as it has in the past) and sharing it publicly - seemingly for the purpose of encouraging said harassment.

I get people like the clothed pics. But you're going too far by sharing it and their names. If you absolutely have to use reverse search, just don't share it. It's not hard.

If you're gonna play dumb and be like "what harassment?" you are willingly not paying attention, and if you yourself harass / identify and message female riders online and see it as no big deal, you're an enormous problem

I am changing my opinion on this evidence that this year's London ride was one of the better ones.

I've not ridden since the golden year's, over a decade ago, but I do beg to differ. After watching that video, I was shocked by one thing that is missing...the fun factor!

Apart from lovely Lucy, nobody is smiling, there's no chatting or socialising. It also seems the sense of cause or reason we used to have has been forgotten. To me, it looked like a 95% male only exhibitionist ritual or initiation!

I never rode in London (I was always Southampton and Brighton) so maybe London was always more dour, or perhaps it's the miserable times we live in and nobody is smiling much.

I also support removing 'dressed/undressed' thread as it has recently got well out hand!
