It is a choice, but there can also be influences.
When my wife started out in nudism, she was "determined" to keep her pubes. She felt it was "classier" or whatever.
When we became regular visitors at a resort, she started noticing that 90% of the people there were bald. So, feeling "out of style" or whatever, she decided to jump on the bandwagon.
In short, she wouldn't now be going completely bald if "everyone else" wasn't doing it. And I have to admit: it does look good on her.

Years ago we were at Cap D' Agde my wife has insisted she wished to keep her hair above her pussy lips, even though I preferred her to shave it completely bald. We walked around day one of our stay and she saw everyone completely bare. She said, OK, shave it all off. I guess she didn't want to be different.

We are nudists and Mrs. NoShoCo is not shaved clean. Shortest setting on our Philips Bodygroom and shaped, but not fully shaved.

It only seems to go one way. People go from hairy to bald, often slowly, having wobbles and stopping part way on the journey, but never seem to go back the other way, other than when they 'can't be bothered with the upkeep'.

When we started trimming it always felt like we were just building up to the main event and sure enough that's what eventually happened to us both.

It tells me that shaved bald is probably the way to go for most.

A few years ago, my wife and I visited a beautiful nudist beach each day while we were on holiday at a Greek island. She had taken me there before fairly early on in our relationship in the late nineties because she'd been years earlier with her ex and loved the place.

The beach had hardly changed, except in earlier times nudists mixed freely with non-nudists across the whole shoreline. I must admit that I had got a bit of a buzz from us both being naked alongside people who stayed covered up. It gave me sense of superiority over the ones who were too shy or too prudish to take off their swimsuits. As time passed, the nudists gradually became confined to only one end of the beach.

On our most recent visit, my wife said to me that we appeared to be the odd ones out as the only couple there who still had pubes. I hadn't realised it before, but she was dead right. Almost everybody on the beach was completely shaved down there. It wasn't like that in the old days.

I can't speak about nude beaches as my wife and I haven't been on one in over 10 years. My recent experiences are at nudist resorts in Pennsylvania, Virginia and Florida. At these resorts, it's a rare sight to see hair down below. I would say about 95% or more are all bare down below.

My wife candidly explained to me her decision to "not go back the other way" after her initial tentative foray into being bald (because everyone else was bald).

The extra sensations.

She described it as a combination of "relaxing and titillating." Whether she's sprawled out tanning in the sun or swimming, there are more sensations when she's hairless. And she doesn't want to let that go, in spite of the "maintenance", which she does not enjoy (it takes her a while to be perfectly smooth).

There's also an esthetic component, as she likes the way she looks when her tan is seamless.

Nope, not even remotely true. We still see nudists with pubes on the beach. Specifically, Gunnison Beach in NJ, which gets a huge cross section of ages, ethnicities, and body types. Definitely lots of shaved, but plenty of people with landing strips or even full bushes. One of the best on our last trip in 2024 was a petite Asian woman in her mid twenties, who had a full black one.
