There's a saying that good things come in threes, so tonight I am uploading a trio of videos for you on here. They are all from the same programme, which was a one off period 'thriller' called Brides in the Bath, based on the real life case of serial widower and failed life guard George Joseph Smith, whose unfortunate habit of losing his wives in bathtub mishaps saw him hanged for sheer carelessness - and the fact that he was putting the bath tub manufactorers out of business. Martin Kemp played the 'unlucky in love' serial killer Smith, and because each wife ended up dead in the bath it meant that it also needed three actresses to appear naked for the drama.

Bride No 1 was Charlotte Randle, who made her screen debut in 1993 in The Token King, but it took until 4 years later before she gained some notice and her next role in the crime drama McCallum (1997-98), where she ended up having to do her first ever nude scene. Ironically it was because she ended up dead in that series - and also a closet lesbian in it too (what a waste of an opportunity!) - so most of her nude scenes were morgue scenes. Five years later and her luck hadn't changed much, but at least in this video you get to see her naked and alive before she realizes she really should of packed her waterwings. By the way, at the end there is a scene where you see Kemp and the doctor pull her out the tub and try to revive her and the doctor asks him to remove her teeth. The intriguing point there is that back in those days when a bride from higher standing was due to marry they had to have all their teeth removed as a gift in a locket for their husband on their wedding night (think Carry On Don't Lose Your Head). Apparently it was to prove their love and commitment to their intended - Ouch! I can see the advantages for the hubby (oral sex, remove teeth if nagging, etc) but not so much for the poor bride.

Bride No 2 for the 'unlucky in love' George Joseph Smith (Martin Kemp) was Emma Ferguson, who made her screen debut in 1999 in an episode of the sitcom Barbara before notable appearances in such fair as Brookside (1999-2000), Mile High (2003) and North & South (2004). Despite appearing in the risque Mile High, it was Brides in the Bath (2003) the same year that Emma did her one and sadly only nude scene, appearing full frontal nude as she took off her nightie to get into the bathtub for a soak, only to go under before she had a chance to play with her rubber ducky. I do wish the lighting was better for this scene, but she certainly has a nice figure on her. Sadly for Emma, she seemed to give up acting a couple of years later, but there was a bigger reason for this. For Emma started dating - and later became the wife of - Take That popstar Mark Owen! To think he was still shagging other women when he had Emma at home to go to!

Bride No 3 was Carolyn Backhouse, who proved third time unlucky as the bride to marriage enthusiast George Joseph Smith (Martin Kemp) in Brides in the Bath (2003). However Carolyn proved more difficult than the first two to drown, not least because she was extremely shy about her body and refused to take a bath, leading to Kemp getting very ratty and eventually ordering her to have one on the grounds that he was her husband. Even then he didn't get it all his own way as she bolted the door to the bathroom to stop him getting in before tentatively pulling up her nightdress to go naked and getting into the bathtub. Sadly Kemp proved somewhat resorceful with a razor blade (don't worry, it's not as gruesome as it sounds) in order to get in before persuading her that she'd really like a foot massage to relax her. Don't trust him - he was in Spandau Ballet!

As for Carolyn, she made her screen debut in 1990, appearing in the film Robin Hood (not that one, the Patrick Bergin one) and gaining notice in the TV series Jupiter Moon from 1990 to 1996. But she struggled to find work after that series finished until she appeared as the ill fated third wife in Brides in the Bath in 2003. And remarkably this was her first ever nude scene as well, but maybe the lack of regular work after Jupiter Moon persuaded her that if she really wanted to continue in the business she would have to bare all for the cameras. So she does (or near enough), showing off a nice bum and baring her breasts a couple of times as she prepares to have her naked dip. Despite comparitively few credits in her acting CV, she is still acting, which goes to prove that if you drop your togs for the camera, they'll thank you for it with employment. At any rate, the public will thank you just for doing it!

Can describe if you like: a man (who is the protagonist of the story) owns a large country house. A young woman runs to it to tell him something is on fire. It turns out he's playing tennis naked with a different woman, as a kind of foreplay I guess.

A longer clip of the scene would show you him naked, talking to the young woman. The shots of Emily are cut-aways from the main conversation.
