It seems to me that if you start with a search for DSC, you will hit many many PC's owned by old couples, church going mums and dads, kids etc whilst looking for paydirt. I'm just trying to narrow the field.

It depends what the user has set. When you join a p2p network, the setup gives you options for what you want to share or if you want to share at all. The default settings will often allow users access to your whole hard drive
