Re locals go there - it's mostly locals who live locally. It's also full of tourists from overseas who go to check out the white sand, then go bank to Sydney.

Re people from Sydney going there to escape the crowds on Sydney beaches - it's a 3 hour plus drive, one way, and while Hyams beach is definitely less crowded, I have never heard of anyone going there for the day, just to escape a busy Sydney beach. There are many world class beaches in Sydney, some of them are relatively quiet, perhaps even more quiet than Hyams, so driving 6 plus hours in a day to find a similarly world class beach at Hyams seems like a far fetched concept to me.

Who told you locals to Hyams beach go to Hyams beach rather than driving 3 hours one way to a Sydney beach?

Re good views - the country is full of good views, and if you are in Sydney, or near Hyams beach, you don't need to travel far (and certainly not 3 hours one way) to see good views, of either the landscape or female type.
