[Request] Communal showers

A few years ago we were at a large rock festival with a few friends (mixed group, guys, girls, some couples, some singles)
There were a two shower options: the luxury version had completely seperate stalls with a small changing room but cost some money. As students not wanting to spend extra cash this was no options for us.
So we had to go to the huge communal shower. There were two large tents, one male and one female. Therefore i can only retell what my wife told me aout her experience. The guys experienced was super relaxed, everybody just got naked and showered - no big deal.

She went in with the other girls. There were two rows with showers facing each other. In front there were seperate stalls but without doors or curtains. Further back just showerheads next to each other. Most females there wanted to go to the seperate stalls trying to cover up as much as possible.

The friends my wife was with wanted to wait at first and were standing there still clothed waiting for a free spot. But my wife didn't want to wait so she started undressing and went for the open shower part. Only a few girls showered there. She told me there were essentially two types: the ones comfortable with their nudity just showering and the ones clearly uncomfortable wo didn't want to wait and wanted to finish as fast as possible.

She definitly was very comfortable being nude and enjoyed a long shower. The other girls followed her lead and they all showered next to each other.

Roskilde Festival used to have two options as well, pay for hot water and privacy, or a free cold shower, which was communal and not gender separated. Not sure what it’s like today, but here are a few pictures from media back in the 80s and 90s.

My wife has. She grew up in a fairly rural and poor area of the US. Being rural the school buildings were older (pre 50’s-60’s school construction boom). So even the girls locker room showers were without stalls. She had classmates whose houses did not have running water. So the showers were still in use when she was growing up in the late 90’s and 2000’s. Well beyond when most school showers had stopped being used regularly because that was some kids opportunity to shower that day. I’m not sure if that is still the case today. But when my wife was growing up everyone still used them.

Moving on to college, she went to a large state school that had a couple gyms available for non-athletes. The newer gyms showers had stalls. But the oldest gym on campus was still open and communal. She used that gym several times a week during her first two years on campus because it was the closest gym to her. After moving off campus she used it less frequently because it wasn’t as convenient to get to.

Back in the 70's my wife was part of a university team studying Mayan culture, they had a trip to Yucatan sponsored by the Mexican gov't and the university to explore some ruins. They needed more men to go to do all the grunt work, I had some vacation time, so I volunteered.

To say it was difficult and primitive is an understatement, the days were hot and the work dirty, at night the mosquitos were so thick you better be sheltered for several hours after dusk. There were several tents, since we were married, we got our own tent, but most off time was spent in a communal tent socializing and drinking vast quantities of Montejo cerveza, which was actually cheaper than bottled water.

They had erected a shower tent, it was open most of the time for communal showering, or if you like, there was men only an hour and women only for an hour later at night. If I remember, there were 6 women and 5 or six guys, but people came and went from the dig.

The two crews would get back from the dig in the afternoon, no one in their right mind was going to wait a few hours for a shower, my wife, who wasn't especially modest, was stripping off as soon as the jeeps stopped so she could be first in the shower, I was embarrassed, not for the nudity, but from my erections, so I would try to face to side of the tent. No way I could see attractive young women nude, without getting a boner. I got a few smiles from some females, but by about the 4th day of our 10 day planned stay did I get used to the nudity. My wife didn't mind showing off her body to the guys, this got some fun sex in our tent, out futile attempts at being discreet was met with wagging fingers and smiles the next morning.

Unfortunately, on the 7th day a hurricane was brewing in the Gulf and they closed the project up the next day. I came home with mosquito bite scars, a scar from a bite of a non-venomous snake and some great memories.

My ex from China told me about how years ago she used to have to take a shower with zillions of other Chinese girls once a week because back then it was the only way they could take a hot shower.
