In this scene the characters are army nurses fleeing from the Japanese advance in the Philippines in 1942, who decide to stop and take a swim. Our cast is, in order of their emergence from the water at the end of the scene: Valerie Mahaffey, Alberta Watson, Suzanne Lederer, and Susan Sarandon.

Finally, she declares "this is a pants-free house" and demands that the roommate take hers off.
