well, in my experience the majority of people on most nudist beaches are 40+
most younger crowds lack the confidence to display their bodies... unfortunately, this comes with age...

Maybe lack of confidence... Or they know/think that they will attract too much attention or create a commotion... ;-)

Exactly. As I wrote some time ago in another thread, some 20-25 years ago I used to go a lot on holiday in Greece, and practically every beach was, to some extent, a nudist beach, meaning that you would see people with swimsuits, topless and fully nude, all mixed (both locals and tourists). Also, men and women used to change clothes on the beach in the open all the time. And these were often young people, including families. This is nowhere to be seen nowadays. I used to think the reason for this is society having become more conservative, but now I think there are two more reasons. One is that it is now very easy to take high-quality sneak pics and post them online, so women may be more wary of being nude on a beach. The other is that the society has put a gigantic pressure on always having a perfect and beautiful appearance, and many young women will consider any minor defect as a big shame.

A fair bit is to do with people that go there. 20 years ago it was, IME Brits and other western and northern Europeans.

Lots of those people have got old now, and their culture (younger nationals) have moved on to other places. Brits, Sweds, Nors, all pop in out of places in Spain, mainland and the isle like Ibiza for long weekends en masse. Their big holidays are now longer distances to places outside of the EU or those in the EU who want a more upmarket experience.

This was unheard of 20 years ago when you went to Ibiza, a greek isle etc. you went for a week or two, it was your holiday. Greece is just a bit to far in flight time to be a weekend destination worth going too.

Now on the Greek isles there is a larger amount of people from all over, Canada, the US and largely Eastern Europe who have different idea of what "beaching" is.
