Topless in Italy

Italy is a very religious country, nudity is seen as something shameful and so topless is totally rare. I have spent the last 10 summers on italian beaches and i can count on one hand the times i have seen girls sunbathing topless and it was mostly foreign tourists. This whole thing makes it all even better! Here are some pics I found on the web where I am certain they were taken in Italy. Please post exclusively if you are sure that your pics are taken in italy

Sure! First three are from Rimini. Second three are from Ferrara coast (according to the dude who posted his gf on an italian forum). 7th is from flickr and is the Salento coast. 8th is from cinque terre. 9th and 10th from venice.

I totally disagree... Italy is not so religious... after all we have the Vatican, a good reason for being less religious than other countries
Topless depends from the beach. For example, near Ferrara there is a very famous nude beach, in Liguria there are many spots where nude sunbathing is considered "acceptable", similarly in Sardinia where topless is quite common (beside full nudity). Many beaches in Tuscany are topless-friendly (and at least one beach is officially a nude beach) and so on. Of course many years ago topless was the standard apparel in most of the beaches but those years are gone....

Note: Majority of the Spanish nudists beach visitors are from Italy in the peak season in Balearic beaches.

Wrong. Nude beaches in Italy are rare and they are mostly attended by swingers. I have been to the beach you are talking about in
Ferrara and 99% of its visitors are old men masturbating. The few females are over 60. At least that was my experience which I do not wish to repeat.
However I intended this thread for the spontaneous gesture of being topless on a textile beach, in Italy it is so rare that you could spend an entire summer without encountering it. If you do, then it is assured it is a foreign tourist. I have been to Sardinia this summer near Stintino which is one of the most touristic place on the island and there were zero topless females. Zero. We are nothing like Spain for example where, virtually, around 1/3rd of the female of any age are topless. I blame it on religion.

In Italy most of women don't even go topless because they are raised with Catholic reverence.

It's extremely rare to see women with boobs out, and those who do it are mainly over 30s, more likely also over 40s. Forget about finding early 20s girls doing it.

Said that, just imagine how rare can nudism be.

I don't know about Italy, but I think there has been a strong cover-up trend globally. I remember that in the early and mid 90s topless was the norm on Greek beaches, and about a third of the women were nude, and I'm talking both secluded spots and regular, even crowded, beaches. Then ladies started to cover up, and now the numbers are much smaller than that. In Spain too, toplessness and nudity remain common only on a bunch of specific, known beaches. I don't know the reason for this, and I don't have a guess. Maybe people just became more conservative?

it depends on which beaches you frequent. it is normal that if you go to a beach frequented by families it is more rare to see topless or naked. this is my wife and we never had any problems ....

As to the beaches, I don't know about Italy, because I've never been to the seaside there (I know, that's a mistake, and I should rectify it as soon as possible ). Anyway, I was referring to Greece and Spain. In the 90s, practically every girl and woman on Greek beaches was topless, including on crowded whole-family places. Hell, I even remember once on a beach there, I believe it was in or around a town called Mavrovouni, a family of father, mother and daughter (16ish). The mother was fully nude, medium-large MILF tits, nice short-trimmed landing strip, and the daughter was topless. Nowadays, it's nothing like this anymore.
