i had archived 13,795 pics from the exhibition board
i ran visapic on them and found 1,443 duplicates i know i try and thats not close to athe amount of pics on that board only about the first 60 pages of pics before i gave up on trying to download everything on the board point we all have to try and make a better effort at knowing what is on here some pics had been posted 4 or 5 times i am going to try harder i did run pics i still had against the downloaded files and found about 40 pics that had already been posted i am going to try to do a better job but i think 10.4 % reposts is a little high i think we can do better how we can get everything so we can check easier i don't know i know everybody can't download everything and even if we could check names a lot of them sre different but if the average held thru all the pages that means 1 out of every 10 pics we post has already been posted |

the most aggravating i found were the same pics posted by some
people in different threads and even had different names not mentioning any names but maybe we can all just check a little better before we post specially in the mixed posts like beach pics, flashing pics, party pics etc some people complain of reposts but it is hard to keep track of mixed posts and like i said every 10th pic posted is a repost and some pics i expected to find plenty of reposts on just weren't there which meant i had seen them elsewhere multiple times so unless you only go here for pics or have a true photographic memory it would be hard to say what is a repost and what isn't us posters have to take more responsibility for what we post and that INCLUDES ME |

If you had asked me of the top of my head what I thought the repost rate would be, i would have said 15-20%.
Ten percent doesn't sound that bad. Its good to know anyway, so thanks for the info. Wish OCC could run every single uploaded pic through some dup detection thing like visipic. Otherwise, who else has a photographic memory. Not me... When I was running explorer, every pic I downloaded from here had the filename attachment.php. It was a great way to keep track of what pics I got from here because all I had to do was see that filename (or some renamed permutaion but the "php" was always a tip off) and I'd know. That kept me from reposting a lot of stuff. But now, I'm running Safari and the file just saves with the original name. So now, I'm more likely to post reposts.
