I was able to take a few photos posed back in September of 2011 and try a few simple (very simple) Photoshop techniques to restore some the the color, brightness and sharpness to them. The revitalized photo's are joined with the posted ones on the site; the degree of variation ranges from slight to significant.

First, thanks to the OPs who posted these form their collections, archives and the like for the community to enjoy. The images may have made appearances earlier than in Sept of 2011 on the site; that was simply the date of set of pages I landed on. No intention here of overlooking anyone's earlier efforts.

Second, is this something people on the site care about one ay or another? For me it is fun working with these old photos and I know that not everyone has Photoshop to try to bring them back for themselves (although I am sure many could do a much better job than I did with the software). I'm not trying to fix photo blemishes, just bring back some color. I realize that some may object to changing the originals, so I would like to know what you think. Stop? More? Don't care?

I posted a similar thing back here about a year ago

https://forum.oneclickchicks.com/sho...38#post2587038

I think a lot of people like the old style of the photos as it captures the era.
However I agree about some pics where there is a a huge colour shift or it's very dark so you can't see the photo properly.

I have a another thread here where I post corrected photos.
I don't post the originals so I can fit more revised photos on a post.
This avoids cluttering other threads with photos that aren't welcomed there.
I'll probably be winding activity down soon as the days get longer.

Feel free to post in my thread if there isn't a positive reponse here.

I think anything that improves these great old pics is a good thing. Thanks for your efforts, they work well.

The originals are still there. Thank You for making the pics clearly better (pun intended)!

You absolutely added value with your changes. I do treasure the look of old photos, especially polaroid, mainly because it reminds me of a time when all this stuff (real-people porn) was rare and precious. So your decision to include the original next to the enhanced pic was the best of all worlds. Thanks, and I would love to see more.

Polacolor film had a bluish-cast to it in many situations, so a little enhancement helps render the photos a bit more natural looking. The later versions of it, SX-70 style, were more natural looking from the get go.
