No, that's not right. I'm a 34AA - I measure 34" across my nipples and 34" just below them and the AA is my cup size. Cup size has nothing to do with "the numbers". I would wear a 34AA bra if I wore the size I actually am, but I don't.

Y'all keep in mind that cup sizes are a relative, not absolute, measure. The actual size or volume of the breast in any given cup size depends on the chest (band) size. (See, for example, lulalu.com/bra_fitting.) So, Fae had a 32 chest. What is your wife's chest size, TT Lover? This might account for the difference. (Also, I've known several women who wear the wrong size and cup because even they don't understand bra measurements and are pleasantly surprised at how comfortable a bra can be when properly fitted.)
