Looks like we had some Sunny Weather for the Worthing Ride.. but it could have been a tad Windy..the Event page was showing around 70 People Going.. did any Regular Contributors manage to attend to report back.. how it went ?

Newcastle was showing.. Near 1,000 Going.. it was too far to travel for most people and with a huge train fare.. I doubt many made it from London... anyone able to report back on how it went ?

Folkestone. Facebook showed 130-odd going. I had a feeling nothing like that many would turn up and the actual number was about 20, but that was definitely at least partly to do with a huge delay on the M25 which stopped people getting out of London and just about the worst possible weather you could ever have in July. Just as the ride was due to start, there was the most amazingly insane black sky over the town. The inevitable deluge followed. It was cold and it was windy.

I'd been in nearby Hythe for another event so went up. Caught the ride near its premature end. The riders all looked like they had some awful diseases - but they were various odd colours where their body paint had been washed almost away. It was pretty much the usual die hards who never miss a ride, plus one young lady who braved the awful weather.

The weather gods have mostly not been kind to the UK WNBRs this year. Apparently WNBR Chelmsford had even worse weather.

Well the good news on Newcastle is that it was comparable to London and Brighton.

The less good news is that I mean comparable only in their inaugural years. Maybe 50-60 riders, of which around ten were women. Of those- 4 topless, including just the one, familiar, voluptuous nude nudist. A friend who freelances for Alamy was there- here are some of his shots that they deselected, presumably because they're individual shots rather than of the wider ride.

I always assumed the numbers were so high because an invite was sent to an old Spencer Tunick mailing list, but had hoped more of them would own a bike (if you're reading this Newcastle, prove me wrong next year!). Thunderstorms had been forecast for a week or so beforehand, but in the event there were just a couple of light showers with bouts of sunshine. Personally I'd say the UK weather this year was God's punishment for Nigel Farage.

There's also now a watermarked album on Flickr by user Nick Carter, from the start and end of the ride.

I did also find these of the pink feather-boa-skirt rider in Newcastle on a blog- looks like there's a gleam of a piercing below the boa skirt in the second pic, but it's far from conclusive.
