I spoke to main organiser Nick Sayers and explained why I post on here. The WNBR threads on this forum remain the best source for unbiased information re the UK rides. So it's a porn forum - no one involved with these bikes rides has ever looked at a bit of porn, I'm sure Could you imagine this sort of utterly ludicrous situation at any other event? It's nothing to do with the riders. Myself and my snapping buddy found the participants great fun and perfectly happy to be photographed - they wouldn't be taking part if they weren't. A little bit of respect goes a long way.

As ever, I would always be more than happy for anyone I snapped to see the pictures I took. For me, these rides are just fun events, the nudity is pretty much irrelevant. I know there's interest in the rides from people who enjoy seeing naked people - it's laughable for some folks to pretend otherwise.

Meanwhile, as serious snappers were being harassed, you had obvious pervs getting up to see sorts of things. The notorious 'Mr Cloth' was there and getting spoken to by the police for his inappropriate behaviour - and allowed to remain on the ride One tourist was seen holding a guy's penis while a friend photographed him. One guy was spotted by someone I spoke to later giving another guy a hand job in the painting area, albeit discretely. Various of the well known pervsters such as Mr Willy Scaffold were there with their point and shoots with no one taking any notice of them because they had their bits out. Mr Folding Bike, previously banned from every ride in the UK, now seems to be an accepted part of all the rides, despite his long history of making crude and inappropriate comments to women. The list goes on.

Despite all this and foul weather, it didn't spoil the day and I was glad I decided to do both London and Brighton this year, after at first thinking I wouldn't. Despite the madness, the London stewards are very professional and sensible in their approach and do a great job. Brighton is a little clique and while most stewards are fine, they always manage to find one or two who behave ridiculously. I would definitely have been more forthright and probably involved the police if faced with someone repeatedly obstructing me from going about my lawful business at any other event. As it was, I knew that that vast majority of my shots would come with the ride underway and at the end of the day, the one and only picture I was prevented from taking was of a flag, and mine being CC usually end up in various media sources reporting on the ride, so it's just a little less publicity for their cause.

It's interesting that if we all started a non porn website forum dedicated to the WNBR and posted exactly the same content and the same pictures except with just (and only just) a little bit more moderation (the labia thread for example) or the occasional close up of genitals, then it would be THE resource for unbiased and objective discussion with photo and video sharing on the internet for the WNBR and would probably get a lot of kudos from riders and non-pervy photographers alike. It could be argued that Flickr is actually more 'porn' than this thread!

However do a Google search and you wind up here, c'est la vie. Yes well the other parts of this site is porn and do I browse those sections of hard core porn, no, I'm here, like very many others (including riders, yes it can easily be worked out who) for the WNBR and the occasional public nudity stuff, Bay to Breakers, Spencer Tunick etc.

As DaveD says, it seems to me that Brighton was actually pretty great. Jeneva's already posted a couple of her but the Climate Change girl is a new Brighton star for me. And since you also speak of Ms Graham, guess who turned up in a Boudicca chariot this year?

And I'm certainly hoping the busty girl in #9 & #10 isn't the shell bra girl that DaveD mentioned. Difficult to tell if it's bodypaint at that resolution but she's also stunning. Hoping for many more!

No, that's not her. Sparkly purple eyebrows, sparkly cyan eyeshadow, sparkly disco pants and the shell bra. You'll know her when you see her. The girls in those last two pictures were in my list though, they are the bouncy floral-knickers "One Less Car" girls. I had the privilege of riding behind the one in the last pic for several minutes, watching her adjust and fidget with her breasts. I guess those garlands tickle!

eg nude participant, pleasant, ask nicely
vs
clothed ("dirty mac pervert") bystander, "leering", blocking the way

both can take exactly the same image ... who is more likely to get the voluntary pose or the aggro?

Being naked makes you vulnerable (how many here would do WNBR nude?) - women feel this more because of the risk of sexual assault (generally - not at WNBR). Hence some women feel "used and abused" or taken advantage of as wank material on a porn site - yet the same photo on Flickr is OK. Yes it's naive and irrational not to expect this - but it's about women's perceptions and feelings not "facts" and "reason" as most husbands boyfriends will testify.

So tread very gently - and don't assert all your "rights" otherwise the birds will simply fly away.

Well, modesty aside I for one hope you'll post your photos! The originals of the images I posted of the Climate Change girl seemed to have been taken by a budding photographer- check out the depth of field in the reverse photo of her standing on the railings- and they were very muddy and colourless. I played around with the colour levels etc before posting. I think fog was actually forecast at one point a few days before the ride- so perfect photos from Brighton will be rare this year, I think.

OK... ok... here's 10 that aren't totally terrible.

1 No idea, don't remember seeing her again.

2-4 are the curvy blondes who posed with the policemen. "Nude Flash" and "Eve was Framed," they also have a brunette friend "Free the Nipple"

5-6 is "Now You See Us" and Bringing Up The Rear" already well featured in the thread.

7 I don't remember but the Norway girl is in the background, she was riding with a beautiful petite blonde, you can just make out one of her tits.

8 I like to call "Fur Coat and No Knickers." Just in front of her is the ride's only cute topless black girl I spotted.

9 is the "Victim Support" girls, rode naked but knickers on at all the stops.

10 is the only beach pic I got this year.
