*Naked in the news*

A small naturist campsite in the north of England is holding its annual festival soon, and the local newspaper has now run two stories on it, both accompanied by pictures and video. The first contains the picture below, and a brief video. I suspect that's of 'mum & dad'. The second link contains many more pictures and a slideshow, all of the daughter. I haven't included them here because - in the nicest way possible - she isn't quite a model. Anyway, in case anyone is interested:

Looking into this: the website posted her pics on april 25... and it took 5 days for her students to find her and get her fired. OOPS! The teacher is claiming drugs (coke) and they made her do it. Hong Kong girl bungee-jumps naked in Chiang Mai (VIDEO)

A bungee-jump operator in Chiang Mai was gently fined today for letting a Hong Kong model jump naked.
When police in Mae Rim heard a pretty young woman was naked at X-Centre Bungee Jump today, they rushed to the scene, only to find the video and photos of the naked tourist spread online were already a week old.
"I didn't think the video and photos would be posted and criticized online," Manager Bancha Chulakul told police.
Bancha said the unidentified tourist visited the venue on May 6, claiming she was a model and wanted the footage for her portfolio.
She first wore a bikini but then took it off and jumped. After that, she took a Songtaew back to her hotel.
Authorities fined Bancha THB1,000 for obscenity and released him.
Yutthakarn Metha, a Mae Rim police investigator, said they are also tracking down the tourist to ask her not to spread the photos because Chiang Mai is a “city of culture,” Manager reported.

Naked woman nabbed after walking on Bay Bridge

A woman wearing only her birthday suit was taken for a mental evaluation after police caught her walking the Bay Bridge naked on Tuesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers responded at 3:28 p.m. to westbound Interstate 80 near Treasure Island for a report of a crash involving at least two vehicles, Officer Kevin Bartlett said.

Arriving officers learned a nude woman was walking in the area near where the crash was reported, Bartlett said.

A San Francisco police officer who was headed to the city from Treasure Island pulled over several minutes later, wrestled the woman to the ground and detained her, Barlett said.

An ambulance arrived about 3:45 p.m. and the woman was taken to a hospital where she was to undergo a mental evaluation.

No one was seriously injured in the two-car crash.

It was not immediately known if the naked woman was the cause of the crash.

I gotta say, if I'd read this as fiction it would have been pretty good. Knowing it really happened kinda makes self-righteously pissed on these girl's behalf. Otoh, I want to ask a couple nurse friends if they had to do this if it's 'common practice'. . ..

Personally and in theory, I see nothing wrong with this as it probably makes the practitioner more aware of the techniques they will be using. If there was inappropriate behavior, surely the college has a complaints procedure which would deal with it. It sounds to me that the girls and the college have fallen foul of some ambulance chasing lawyer who has seen them as a cash register on legs.

Dozens go topless at UCSD to 'Free the Nipple'

Armed with a message -- but no tops -- more than 100 students at UC San Diego gathered Wednesday with this message: "Free the Nipple."

"Yes, I just want everyone to learn to love themselves and love other people, too, so the world can be a better place," said Anni Ma of Free the Nipple UCSD, who helped organize the event on campus.

"We're having a topless movement where everyone is sitting down with their tops off, both men and women, to show that we can normalize the female breast," Ma added. "It felt, actually, really normal, and everyone just did it and it wasn't a big deal, like, that's how I felt."

Ma said it's all about equality.

"It's just not fair that a woman will get harassed and then get put in jail and then have to fight to prove her innocence while her counterpart will have no problem with doing that. It's kind of rough and it's just not fair," said Ma.

They say this is not about sex.

"It doesn't have to be a sexual thing. I can walk around and it can be perfectly normal and by doing this we're allowing everyone a chance to be perfectly normal," said Ma.

Typically, nudity in public spaces violates San Diego municipal codes and the UCSD student code of conduct, but the school told 10News they support the students and their First Amendment rights.

"There's actually like a free speech zone over there which I think is actually kind of weird because I think this whole place should be a free speech zone, like America," said Ma.

Ma would love to see new laws that would free women to go topless, just like men, without it being considered a violation.
