Yes, they're for charity purposes, but why pose naked or semi-naked? Because they know it's going to get attention!

Which article do you mean? I did a quick search but couldn't find anything. Here's my thoughts anyway...

I'm not sure they're deluded as such but maybe some are naive.

I think many of the women who pose for these calendars consciously try not to be sexy by striking non-sexual poses, but even then they can still look appealing.

Using one of my recent posts as an example take Donna (full calendar set here and here) I think she's lovely and certainly the nicest lady in the calendar with her pretty face, appealing figure and apparently generous bosom but ultimately she's just sat in a chair answering a phone. She just happens to be naked.

But we also have Nikki stood there with her buttocks on display for all the world to see (especially now she's found herself posted here on OCC for posterity ) and her nipples only protected from view by a carefully positioned wine bottle. Now you're telling me it never occurred to her at any point that men might end up looking at her in a sexual way? I doubt it. And the fact is that if she was unhappy to have her naked flesh looked at in a sexual manner then she would not posed in such a fashion or allowed that photograph to be used.

Looks like that post has been deleted. It was an article where one of the women who posed for one of these calendars was defending herself from allegations that these calendars are degrading to women.

I've never bought the idea that nude photographs aren't supposed to be sexual or at least playing with the idea of sexuality. Some of the subjects may ham it up more than others, but all of them are exploiting their sexuality to some degree. Just my opinion.
