how do you shrink down video files???

i have some files i would like to share but they are about 20,000 kb...im not that computer savy so what does that equal in mb(i know the limit is 10 mb).any ways if you could tell me how to cut them in half or 3rds or whatever,it would be greatly appreciated.thanks.

Welcome to the forums mroralfreak.

If you are running Windows XP, you could use Windows Movie Maker to edit, split or compress the videos. Windows Movie Maker comes free bundled with XP.

There are lots of other options. It would just depend on what kind of file (ie. What is the extension?) and what kind of computer you are using.

well they are mostly mpg,but i have some avi as well...as far as the computer goes 3ghz pentium 4 processer with 512 ram and a 200 gig hard drive.

so then what is the mb versus kb ratio... like does 1 kb = 10 mb or how does that work? with the cable high speed..

10 megabytes is equal 10240 kilobytes.

Take a look at the programs on your PC and see if "Windows Movie Maker" is already on there.
