Some of your settings might have changed for whatever reason.
Try doing this:
Click on
Control Panel in the
Start Menu and click on
All Control Panel Items. From there click on
AutoPlay, by default you should see that
AutoPlay is
ON. To turn off
AutoPlay completely just uncheck the box. If you want to turn off
AutoPlay for one type of Media just select
Take No Action in the drop down list (you would want to do it next to
Video Files). Then click
Save and you're done.
