On that last statement, I finally work out that HSB1's mom was a stripper. Subsequent conversation revealed that his parents were in fact a divorced couple, but she was not doing it because of delinquent child support but apparently was supplementing her support check and a decent day job. Worked out also that the boys (who seemed like middle-income suburban kids) were students at the downtown magnet school for the arts. The one thing I've always wondered since then is whether she was a stripper before she got married, or started as a divorced MILF. At any rate, that kid was living an interesting story that I would have liked to hear more about.
