In spite of the fact that most of her friends - that she's seen nude - are either shaven or landing stripped (she's actually told me who is one or the other.)

During the course of our growing social nudism, she started finding herself the only woman in our social group with pubes. Her self-consciousness about it grew. She started feeling like these other women were more "esthetic" than her. She started trimming at first; but it looked patchy, which made her even more self-conscious.
She eventually "caved" and decided it was better to just shave it all off and blend in with everyone else. To this day she shaves bald before attending any nudist event.

It could just be a generational or environmental thing. Women in our region and in her age range tend to all be shaven or landing stripped.
This was the same for my wife. Already in 2016, I posted in this topic she sometimes felt self-conscious about having a full bush even though I was the only one who saw it. Over the years, she cared less about it until the moment that she went back to the gym after the pandemic and would go together with friends. They would see each other in the changing rooms and she was the only one with a full bush. Most of the other ladies were bare and a few kept a landing strip. She liked the clean look of the other ladies and started to think about shaving. Ultimately, it took a couple of months before she made the decision, but early last year she decided to shave. She went immediately from full bush to bare, and was happy with it and has kept it bare ever since.

While her friends were never negative about her full bush, they told her shaved looked really good on her. My wife intially said that she wanted to keep it bare at least the whole summer (of 2024), but she still continues to shave and told me she's happy with it and has no plans to grow out a full bush again. Even though she knows I used to like it, she feels better without the hair. She has recently been looking into laser hair removal, initially for her legs and underarms only. However, if she goes for the package deal including the pubic area, it's only a few hundred euros more expensive and she thinks it's a good deal. I don't like the idea that it's permanent and that she won't be able to grow out a full bush again, but she told me that she anyhow doesn't want to grow out a full bush again and that she wouldn't mind if she never would be able to grow out a bush again. And she says it's more convenient if she can ditch the razor completely by having laser hair removal for all areas she currently shaves frequently.
