Communal showers here in the Philippines are rare and most locals don't see or use it the same as what others have told in this thread. I have seen them mostly on resorts that is secluded or atleast far from the areas of tourist spot beaches. Even if you see one on areas that is populated with tourist or atleast a hot spot, it will be occupied or become exclusive for women. Losing the sense of communal.
